Challenge:

How might we improve the experience of users navigating through 1200+ products within the enterprise wide IT product landscape to find the right tool for their requirement

Approach:

  • Secondary research and understanding the IT product and capability landscape

  • Building hypothesis based on previous research

  • Conducting primary research and in-depth interviews with 12 users

  • Card-sorting to develop user friendly product categorisations and taxonomy

  • 4 personas based on the user roles, from research analysis

  • 4 mindmaps based on capability and functions

  • Information Architecture based on the research

  • Early versions of wireframes

Impact:

The IT product landscape is clearer, with defined capabilities and products, allowing for effective decision making on products/tools to use, procure or make redundant.
